Senior Opto-Mechanical EngineerSummary of PositionTo design precision opto-mechanical assemblies for advanced metrology instrumentation based on performance analyses utilizing analytical as well as finite-element calculations. This position requires significant experience in optics mounting and precision mechanics. In particular, it entails turning tightly toleranced optical designs into mechanical hardware, implementing low stress mount designs, and optimizing assemblies for vibrational stability. Qualification RequirementsMasters in mechanical engineering plus 5 years opto-mechanical experience, or PhD in mechanical engineering plus 2 years opto-mechanical experience. Practical experience in manufacturability issues of high precision assemblies. Experience with Solid Edge or equivalent solid modeling software. Experience with Ansys or equivalent FEA software.
